Colton's first day

Colton was so excited when he woke up this morning, that the first thing he did was run over to his backpack and ask if it was time to go. I had to explain that we had to eat breakfast and get ready first! Poor guy. It was the longest hour of his life. haha. When we got to school, he walked right in, found his cubby, put his backpack away, found Drew, and turned to me and said "bye mommy!" And then he ran off to play. I'm so happy that he was that comfortable and ready for school. The teachers had all of the centers set up, and the kids were welcome to explore the room as they came in.

Open House

Colton starts Preschool on Monday! He will be going to the preschool at UCO, at the Child Development Center. The Open House was today, and he was beyond thrilled! It was so hard to get him to leave! Being a Pre-K teacher myself, I was checking the classroom out through the eyes of a teacher, not a mommy. And, I completely LOVED his classroom and his teachers! The classroom was really big, and had plenty of space for the kids to explore. There was a huge reading center, with a loft and pillows, and there was an amazing dramatic play center. You could tell that everything has a place, that way the kids know exactly where to put there things away when they are through playing. There were many manipulatives available, and of course there were blocks, cars and building materials. Colton had a blast! There is also an observation booth, that has a one-way mirror, where parents can go in to observe their child anytime during school. I think it will be fun to use that periodically, to see who Colton is playing with, and what he enjoys doing at school. Another thing I like about the program, is that it is two years long, with the same teachers, in the same classroom. The 3 year olds go in the morning, and the 4 year olds go in the afternoon. I'll post pics on Monday of us dropping him off! Oh and did I mention that his BFF is in his class? I think he's going to have a fantastic year!

Colton's 3rd birthday

Colton had a Toy Story birthday party with all of his family here in Oklahoma, and then later, he had a birthday party in Dallas with all of the Nevitt family. The pictures in the pink shirt are of Dallas, and the green shirt are of Oklahoma. He had such a fun time! Now that he's 3, he is excited to start school on Monday! I had told him that when he turned 3, he would go to school, so of course, ON his birthday, he thought he should go to school! I guess that was my fault. Oops.

Sleep

Well, for those of you who have followed my blog regarding our sleep issues with Connor, I am happy to announce that he has officially slept through the night the last 2 nights! I hope he keeps this up! The last couple of weeks, he had been waking up at 5:00 AM and nursing, then going back to sleep until 6:15, so I knew he was getting really close to sleeping all the way through. He's starting to eat a lot more solid food finally, so that may have something to do with it, or maybe he was just finally developmentally ready. Who knows? All I know is that I'm happy to be getting sleep! And now that he is sleeping, I have 7 months until I'm up all night again, because we are expecting baby # 3 in March! I've been exhausted to say the least, with Connor nursing 4-5 times a day, and being pregnant in the first trimester. I've seriously been going to bed at like 8:00 every night. On that note, its 8:30, so I better get in bed! I'll post pictures of Colton's 3rd birthday soon!
